That magic feeling...
"But oh that magic feeling, nowhere to go.."
Some of you are going to hate me for this because, well, you'll see. But one of the best things (apart from the love and the cuddles and the sheer joy) of having a daughter is school holidays.
Remember those? I sure do. Some of the best days of my life - certainly some of the best remembered.
Endless days of discovering the magic of fantasy books (how many times did I read the Lord of the Rings? - whether I read them used to be the standard of whether I had a good holiday or not!), of dreaming about the possibilities of a science fiction future. Of playing games and guitar and records.

Oh that magic feeling, nowhere to go...
Where was I? School holidays? Yes!
One of the best thing about having a daughter is the enforced holidays. I get to experience school holidays again - but this time as an adult.
I get to read science fiction and fantasy. And play games, and guitar, and streamed music!
I get to hang out at home and do nothing. I get to go to the beach and do nothing, or go for a swim, or just hang out.
And I get to hang out with her and her mum❤️
So is it too late for a spoiler alert?
I'm on holidays!

Wonderful!! There's nothing better than hanging out with your family and just having fun! I've got 3 boys, it's manic and hectic and very, very loud... but hanging out in the summer holidays and, you know, just being alive together is one of the best things in the world.
