#CheapJeep Series - Replacing Battery Terminals!
Another weekend in the books!
I haven't made a repair post in a while, so I figured i'd maybe get back in the groove with a super easy one anyone can do in no time! The Jeep has had moments where it would start and sputter before dying. I noticed my battery terminals were loose, and they couldn't be tightened anymore. I rigged it enough to make it home, then bought some new terminals to replace them. Super easy to do, watch!
To begin I removed the battery cable. Remember, the black cable comes off first and goes on last! Be sure you keep them away from the battery posts after they are disconnected.
On mine I had to cut the terminal off the wires. On some that may not be needed, it depends on what type of terminals your vehicle has.
After doing that I used my knife to cut away the insulation to reveal the wires. Be careful!
On the new terminals just loosen the 2 bolts, stick the wires under the plate, and tighten the bolts back. The wires get squished between the plates.
That is literally all there is to it! All that's left to do was put the terminals back on the battery, then tighten them down snug. No more problems!
