It's A Wonderful Life!
It's that time of year, that time of good cheer, and what better way to celebrate than a festival at the filming location of the 1946 Christmas hit It's a Wonderful Life?
Just ten miles up the road from me and seventy years ago Jimmy Stewart asked the question "What would life be like if I had never existed?" If you've never seen it, I highly recommend putting it on your Christmas movie list- I'm not always a fan of really old movies, but this one is an exception :)
"It's a Wonderful Life's Mediocre Marching Band" (Their name for themselves, not what I dubbed them ;)
Now sit back and enjoy the slideshow, there will be more words when I take a short break for alcohol...
That was a lot of walking on a frigid afternoon, this sign fairly glowed with angelic light as we approached-

...ahh, here we go...wait, what? Anything but beer? What's that supposed to mean??
Well, okay, you had me at Free.
Definitely not beer, but still quite magnificent hard cider aged in a whiskey barrel!
Riggity Wrecked had a bite, and not just from the high ABV- who knew that hot peppers and apples would go so well together? But I had to take home Deez Nuts and Doze nuts made me very smiley indeed!
Something seems to be going on down at the church, I'll let this lovely warm buzz propel me onward...to another post since the rest will make this the longest post of all time!

Hard cider aged in whisky barrels, cor, this life just gets better! I could feel the cold emanating out of my screen to I got to that bit!!
It was truly delightful, I brought some to my sister-in-law and she and I got nice and lit- and I didn't even have to pay for it the next day...the wine I recently had is a different story lol!
Yes, it was freezing, though the blue skies and sun made up for that a bit- I'll take cold over gloom any day!
Yeah, if I get clear skies and sun with freezing weather I am relatively happy!!

It was! And funny you should mention that, because in the next post there will be a picture of mom and I bundled like Ralphie's brother in a Christmas Story, haha!

We saw some snow a bit like that once - in Queenstown back in 94! (the deep south!)

Actually, it's a pitiful showing of snow around here, but generally we get slammed in Jan/Feb- like this from last year:
