Catch-up and Sketch

It is amazing how, from this great number, we find a few we keep for life.
Today I met with a few friends from previous work and I got into thinking how lucky I am to still be in touch with these exceptional individuals.
It may start with a simple hello, some from animosity even. Through a series of interraction- intentional or not, we slowly build a lasting bond. We build friendships.

This is exactly why we filter the people we surround ourselves with. Yes, we may interract with hundreds of people with varied personalities, but we choose to spend our time and energy in keeping those who's soul is a complement of ours. These individuals usually add value to our lives in various ways.
Catching up over early dinner and coffee, I feel blessed to have spent most of my office time for the past five years with this group. Despite the time apart and physical distance amongst us, whenever we are together it would seem that nothing has changed. Of course each of us has had individual changes, but the relationship remains the same. We still laugh together on the silliest things. We remember what each one values. We walk back to past experiences and reminisce together.
We remember, and we never stopped caring.
These are the people I spent my Wednesday afternoon with. I am not much of an artist but had fun trying to replicate their image on this piece of paper! I thought of including a likeness of myself, but somehow I am happy to see this as is, as if I was the photographer who captured the image.
