The Car Accident
This is not a usual family photo. We were passengers in the burnt car behind us - our old trusty Honda Edix. The crumple zone did its job and absorbed much of the shock. The chasis remained in shape. A fire started in the engine compartment immediately after impact engulfed the entire vehicle shortly after all of us moved to safety.
Seeing the burnt skeleton of our car again is almost like catharsis of that fateful morning. Everyone felt sad but all of us know the story is buried in a past chapter. We could have all perished in the accident and it would have been extremely unfair to Jenny, Brycen and Rhys. But life is such.. Malang tidak berbau. Or in English, Accidents cant be anticipated.
Inevitably, I realised a few things.. the most important things in life are those we dont think about when we have it.. when it comes down to it, we will do what is important to us without even thinking.. so much of our lives is unnecessary.. much of what we think and as a result much of what we do.. taking a breath of air can be enjoyable and the absence of pain or uneasiness is something delightful..
Life is simple.. it's never about us.. always do what's right, always keep promises, be the best you can be.. be a part of something noble.. and you will not be able to change the world all on your own.. that much I am certain.. but all of us will have a point in our lives where we will be called upon to make a choice that may define another person's life.. instead of defining them.. these are the moments that define us
