You are right that if we make emotional intelligence a priority, we will naturally become more successful. This makes sense because you are utilizing the brain differently and seeing how feelings and emotions play into actions and events.

When you are in a leadership role, in order to be successful you need to treat your subordinates as actual human beings and not chattel or as a number. Most people can think back to a good boss they had and the reason why they think they were a good boss was because they took the time to relate to their employee as a human being and be personal and empathetic to their needs and career goals. Bad managers overlook this aspect of leadership.
