in #life5 years ago

Shitsuke is the fifth step of 6S methodology. Earlier we reviewed the other steps which you will find here

Shitsuke means sustain. This is the most challenging part among all previous steps. You can implement process in your workplace or at home but to continue that need regular practice, training and motivation from the management level.

If any organization wants to move forward sustainability is the core part to be followed. You will find many organizations who follow 6s methodology with sustainable development. My organization is also following 6s methodology. We follow and practice it regularly. You can find more from different websites like below.

According to sixsigmadaily-

The final step of 5S is certainly the most challenging: remaining disciplined enough to sustain the positive changes made in the first three steps. It is critical that the new system be maintained or the efforts and costs put into developing the new system will be pointless. By putting a formal system in place that includes regular training and communication, employees will be able to comfortably conform to the company’s 5S procedures.

When we are going to set any new process, that is always challenging. 6s methodology is like that. You will find many obstacles and difficulties to move forward. But when it’s implemented and sustained, success is obvious. More information from Wikipedia.

Wikipedia defines Shitsuke like below-

Shitsuke or sustain the developed processes by self-discipline of the workers. Also translates as "do without being told".
Goal:
Ensure that the 5S approach is followed.
Implementation:
Organize training sessions.
Perform regular audits to ensure that all defined standards are being implemented and followed.
Implement improvements whenever possible. Worker inputs can be very valuable for identifying improvements.
When issues arrise, identify their cause and implement the changes necessary to avoid their recurral.

So, let’s practice 6s methodology in our daily journey. It will definitely make your life easy and successful.

Thanks for stopping by.

Very interesting @dindar and Shitsuoe sounds like commitment needs to be a big part of the process too.

Yes, you are right.

It should be implemented not only factory and offices but also in a greater way such as a nation, country as well as the whole world for sustainable development, with out sustainable development no country in the world became rich and lasted. I'm very happy seeing that you are navigating in different constructive subjects. God bless you.
