good day folks, on this maiden edition of easy living, we decipher a problem most people still have, knowing the difference between our needs and wants. Humans are naturally unsatisfiable, always looking out for the latest in anything they desire, this is not a bad thing as curiosity and an unsatisfiable hunger has led to the development of the world as we know it.
But,. .
As adults we often find ourselves buying things that arnt really needed and it is at this junction we need to clearly define our needs and wants.
WANTS
I like to define a want as something that would warrant a ''maybe'' status when listed in a scale of preferences. Such that when giving a thoughtful evaluation, would be deemed unimportant to the continuous flow of life. whereas a NEED is an absolute ''must have'', a basic resource that one should not/ cannot live without.
BUT I KNOW WHAT WANTS AND NEEDS ARE...
well.. . .
The issue is, we put our wants and needs together! You're in the mall and you see a nice Gucci bag for half-price? ''wow, so needed'' next there's a 25% off deal on pair of gold plated Iwatches and so on until you've bought an ice-cream making machine and blown through your monthly budget.

The best way to differentiate your needs and wants is simply to spend a little time,thinking about what is going to be useful around the home and yourself,and anything else unimportant.
A listing of BOTH your wants and needs can be very helpful in sorting them out.
A simple formula i use goes like this:
- Health
- Home
- Outing
I put all things pertaining to my health , including food, hospital bills, etc above anything else. These are then sub divided into the different categories. Afterall ice cream is considered food, but not one 1 would put over Rice!.
There isnt anything wrong with buying a margarita dispensing machine(southpark anyone?), I just would prioritize grocery shopping over it.

After working at a homeless shelter and with the special needs community for over 20 years I have developed an interesting take on wants and needs lol..
There are wants and needs then there is poverty level wants and needs.. I go home and listen to the wants and needs of family and friends then go to work 0and see real want and need ... And know how oblivious to it most are.
Strange world I live in.
Very strange lol, when there is cash , we tend to not think too much.
