Skyrockets in ?????, Afternoon ??????
Well, a little change up today in my workout schedule. Instead of a 445am wake up and trip to the gym, it was sleep in until 630am and go to work out at 130pm.
My first afternoon workout at my home gym in months if not ever.
Of course the reason for the change was another wakeful period of a couple of hours after midnight. I just didn't want to (again) be worn out before I even did my first rep. It's a drag physically and it even gets in my head a bit. No lying.
While the HBCP workout was not exactly a "delight" I was fairly pleased with it. No skyrockets either.
Anyhow, the results:
front squat - 10x45 5x95 3x115 2x135 3x5x161.25
Another new mark in the front squat although I did just bump the weight a mere 1.25 lbs from the last session. I'm good with that.
overhead press - 10x45 3x95 5x110 5x110 5x115
THIS is the one that is my bugaboo for the last month. I made a concerted effort to maintain, in order to protect my back, and finish each rep. All in all it was a good effort even though it wasn't a new mark.
pull ups - 3x5x30.63
By adding a single large washer I bumped my pull up to a new mark. Thumbs up.
And between my sets of pull ups I did some weighted forward lunges: 2x10x70 1x9x80
All in all it was a productive 90 minutes at the gym this afternoon. While I prefer to sleep enough so that I can work out in the morning, the after lunch option is a decent fall back.
