Put Ice In Their Water
On a triple digit hot day like to today you might think about your animals. Water can get hot. I remember as a kid my uncle Balid drove me to where he had chickens. He would tell me that the chickens are smart. Instead of drinking the hot water that was in the sun they would wait for him to come and give them fresh water which was cooler. I always seemed to remember that.
There was a time when I would take care of my nephew's dog, a German Shepard. On a hot day I would throw Ice cubes in to his water. That dog really like those ice cubes. He would dunk his head in the water and get one of those ice cubes and crunch on it. He was like a kid with a new toy. I would remember to change the water and put ice in it.
Today I remembered my uncle Balid who passed away a long time now and put ice cubes in my cats water. On a triple digit hot day I know I would like some cold water over hot water.
Awesome tip I also add it to my hens water and freeze veggies for them to entertain themselves with.
That's great. Hen's need entertainment too.
There is this one recipe that people can do for dogs where they actually freeze broth with some veggies and then the dogs can just lick away at it. Or for cats you can just freeze a small bowl of water and put that bit of ice in a container for them to lick at. Now a days it can get very hot, and those are some good ways to cool off the four legged family member.
I'd imagine the german shepherd went to town with the ice lol Thanks for sharing this post.
Thanks for your support @elecbubble, Now those ideas sound really good. I'll be looking forward to your next post.
