My Cat Laying On Me

I took this picture a few days ago. I just needed to lie down for a nap. Then here is my cat and she found me, her large heating pad.

Well, that happens when it gets colder. Even when I am in front of the fireplace with fire she likes to rest on top of me. Sometimes on my legs or stomach.

Today I did make a fire. I am glad that I do have some seasoned wood to burn. Well, I am always looking for firewood, even in the summer.

I like going over the Craigslist free ads where a lot of ads of free firewood are. Sometime the wood is seasoned, but most times it is not seasoned. That means I would have to wait sometime before I can use it.

To me, if it is fresh cut then I wouldn't use it until two years have gone by. I have stacks of wood here and there and I know what year I will use them.

If I come across the season wood then I use them as soon as I can. Some months earlier I was on an odd job and I had to clean up some branches. Well, I noticed that those branches were pretty dry.

So I took them home and cut them into kindling and firewood. I am burning some of it right now.

I like having free firewood as that is free heat for my home. There are times when I get short logs that I will have to saw into smaller pieces before I can split them.

I do have an electric chain saw for that purpose and I do have a heavy maul I use for splitting the wood.

The chance of getting more free firewood is the reason I bought my used 91 Chevy S10 pickup. I did buy it for really cheap at only $1000. I bought the truck at the early part of 2014.

I did have to put more money into it to make it run right. Also the driver side window would always go off track and I adding a power supply so I could charge things including my GPS. So I had those things fixed.

So as soon as I got my truck running the way I wanted it, then I started looking for free firewood. I would look into the Craigslist Free ads. Mostly it is people that just cut down a tree.

Some of them just had wood sitting for years and wanted to get rid of it. Strange how they didn't want to use the firewood. Maybe their heater was doing the job they needed and didn't want to use the firewood.

I know some people don't use their fireplace. I seen a friend of mine put her couch in front of her fireplace as if to hide it. That is kind of strange to me.

I even have a neighbor that put a flat screen TV inside the fire place. So instead of watching the fireplace fire, she would be watching the TV that was place in her fireplace.

Not me, I will use the fireplace and burn my free firewood.

My cat? Well she enjoys a good fire in the fireplace too, especially on a cold day.
