I got anxiety attacks few years ago and was on meds. I just learned to divert my mind to playing video games and to relax with deep breathing to cure it.

It is just avoiding the anxiety, You haven't dealt with the problem, just postponed it. Read my article again, thoroughly and see if you feel you could face it now... and then reply again.
