Rock Art

Once again we went to an area where really exciting rock art had been discovered. These show different camelids as well as a monkey (!) in the section picture.

The monkey is taken as evidence that the atacameños had contact with other indigenous tribes around the world - for example in the Amazon. The fact they knew what a monkey was means they must have come into contact with them. Incredible!
