365 Days That Count - Day 23 - When a 5 year old saves the day.

Today was tough. In fact it was an absolute bloody nightmare. One long toothache of a day.

The gardens are exquisite but they're also on the slope of a mountain and it was 30 degrees. One trip to the van and I was sweating - I was basically sweating the whole day. I know, so attractive!

On top of that one thing after another went wrong.

Firstly one of the models was rather crap which meant it took over 2 and half hours to get the first shot. That screwed up the energy big time. Then both the photographer's and digital
assistant's computers decided to die, the equipment store had to deliver twice to keep them going throughout the day - don't ask me what the problem was, something to do with over heating, first time I've had anything in common with a computer.

Next we had under catered for the amount of people for lunch, our generator ran out of petrol and the driver got stuck in traffic bringing it back and then to top it all off as they were about to start shooting the last shot the main prop - a slack which was being used as a make shift tight rope - had to be replaced and finding another proved difficult which set us back, again.

All the while it was boiling hot and we were running up and down to the vans fetching and carrying. It was far from fun.

There was one big silver lining that came in the form of a very small girl.

Juliet is 5, it was her first shoot, she arrived on set at 6:30am and left at 3pm. She was in every shot and was perfect even when nobody else was. She never once got grumpy or upset or bored or frustrated. She chatted and laughed and played games the entire day. She told us stories I know her mother wouldn't want us to know and had us and her nanny in stitches on several occasions.

Just when you thought the day was a disaster this little girl shot you a smile and it was ok again. It was worth it again.

She was a complete super star and she totally saved the day. To think it was her first shoot is unbelievable!

At the end of it we got the shots we needed, we all lived to tell the tale and we were blessed to have an awful day in a beautiful place with beautiful people and one little girl to remind us there's always something to giggle at.
