RAPE: AN UNCEASING MENANCE

Hi steemians, today I'll be talking about one of the most talked-about, most discussed issues in forums, conferences, widely known as Gender equality. It will be quite short because I am so worked up this days, being a Sophomore is not really easy at all.
Before starting, I will love it, if we can endeavor to read this small piece of work and take cognizance of some things mentioned here, it could really help others.
Gender equality has been the cry of especially the female, since time immemorial, "We are in shackles, we are not free, we need freedom", this and more are one of the songs coming up from protesters talking about gender equality.
It really worth it, I mean the female gender needs it, they worth it, but problems upon problems arises as the thing is growing higher and higher, at times, religious issues affect gender equality, traditional problems also pose as an issue especially in Africa and Asia, some will say the cry is still at the lowest volume.
I came to realize something that, gender equality is not just what we should shout for, but gender equity, we should stop pressing on giving women their right and faces our issues squarely by giving each other our rights, be it the male gender or the female.
We have all heard about male harassing the female gender and vice versa, we all need to be strong enough and take into consideration, what we really need and what needs to be done.
My own country, Nigeria as a case study, Imagine establishing a jinx that in some part of the country a female cannot be a governor, another closer case is that of my university, A male cannot contest as the Vice president, why a female can contest as the president, this and more are to come, if all of us don't stand up and say no to gender inequity. We must make sure that we stand up for ourselves and gain what people can call visible freedom, that worth it and can be boastful of.
