Stairs are not very popular with travelers or home residents. However, not all of them - some staircases are so impressive that they have become the main attraction of the cities and people are searching for them themselves. The play of colors, the unconventional design or the legend associated with them all will make you overcome them with greater ease and their visit will be one of the best experiences for you.

You will probably dream of the stairs even if you visit Angkor Wat in Cambodia. The temple city was founded in the 12th century and today is considered the world's largest religious complex. The stairs leading to the turrets are so steep that many tourists prefer to leave the tour. Allegedly they have built them to remind people of how difficult it is to get to heaven.
