The Universe, Light, Time and how to transcend it...

UNI-VERSE means "one verse". If there was one verse that sums up the Universe it would probably be Genesis 1:3
From that moment, Light went out in every direction and the heavens and the Earth were revealed out of the darkness. Of course, man considers the Sun to be the source of the light of our universe. The Bible teaches that God is light. Jesus is the Light of the World. We also are called to be the light of the world in reflecting the glory of God. So the Sun could be symbolic of the Son of God, the source of true spiritual light that lights up our dark hearts. EARTH can be easily spelled as HEART if we move the H. Perhaps the "mother" Earth represents our Hearts? People are afraid of global warming but the Bible says that in the end the "hearts of many will grow cold". Maybe warming of our HEARTS is what we need? Maybe the destruction of the Earth's environment is just a reflection of the spiritual destruction of our hearts in this modern day, driven by the pursuit of money, status, and self image?

Einstein knew that Light and Time were related. If we spell TIME backwards (as it appears in the reflection of a mirror) it spells EMIT, which is exactly what a source of Light does. Time could be defined as the distance that LIGHT has traveled from it's source. That is why his theory of relativity suggests that if one can travel the speed of light, they can effectively stop time and if they can travel faster than the speed of light they could actually go back in time! It's like catching up to that first LIGHT that EMITed from the source and living there in that moment which transcends TIME itself. We can call that ETERNITY or eternal life. So we get this idea that God is the source of all LIGHT and that God IS Light and if we could somehow catch up to the speed of Light or the speed of God then we can be with God forever in the place that transcends time. Traveling at 671million miles an hour is obviously not practical or possible even far into the future. So the other option is, can we "catch" light by positioning ourselves in its path or just by going directly to the source of Light itself?

A great experiment that shows the distance light can travel in such a short time is using two mirrors facing each other. You can see your own image repeated (in lesser and lesser quality) over and over again an infinite number of times. The image is degrading in accuracy and quality because it is only a REFLECTION of the true image which is you and each reflection is farther and farther away from the source. So it can be seen, that the most ACCURATE image of the SOURCE is that reflection which is the closest distance to the source. However, even the closest reflection is a FALSE image of the source! You will notice by raising your right hand in the mirror it will appear as if you are raising your LEFT hand. This means you cannot trust a reflection to reveal a perfectly accurate picture of the source. Now if someone else is there in the room with you, they can look at you and see the true image of who you are. (right hand is right hand, etc.) So if TIME is the DISTANCE light travels and the farther light travels, the less accurate the image, and we also know TIME can be measured as PAST or FUTURE. Then, we can assume that the farther in the past we look or the farther in the future we look the LESS accurate will be the image that we see. This is a compelling argument for meditation or what I like to call "living in the moment".

The good thing about Buddhism or meditation is to get us to stop living in or for the future or in chains to the past. By bringing yourself ONLY into the very present moment and living each moment one at a time to the FULLEST, we are then able to SEE the most clear and accurate image of ourselves and life itself. We begin to transcend TIME by making the distance between our eyes and the source of the LIGHT we are seeing as small as possible. We see ourselves and each other as we truly are today, not a false image of who we might become in the future or who we were in the past. This can lead to making the best decisions and enjoying life to the maximum. What I don't like about Osho's quote or much of Buddha's teaching is that they bring us to that place, but then they ban all thoughts, ideas, emotions and human experience. (which is impossible to do without being in total isolation with yourself) It's like being in the room with two facing mirrors and closing your eyes so all you see is nothing, total darkness. Of course they are doing this to avoid seeing all the false images and reflections in the mirror. It's like finding the SOURCE of LIGHT then closing your eyes to keep yourself from seeing it. What if there is another option?

What if the most accurate "mirror" for us to see ourselves is our soul mate? The one we love the most. The one who loves us the most. Who can see us for who we TRULY are and give us an accurate assessment of our identity? Of course that means both of you would need to be living in the moment, not in the future or the past. Imagine looking eye to eye with your lover and seeing yourself in his or her eyes and knowing EXACTLY who you are and who they are in that moment and in that place. Many times we are looking at our own image of who we want someone to be in the future rather then appreciating the reality of who they are NOW. Many people are NOT being themselves but rather living with a mask pretending to be one of the false images based on society's expectations. If we all could just be ourselves, be completely transparent and trust the ones closest to us for the most accurate reflection of who we are, perhaps we could truly transcend TIME and shine as bright as LIGHT. Osho and Buddha have seemingly banned all thoughts, desires, emotions and experience labeling them as false or evil or nonproductive. But what if GOD, also known as LIGHT, has made a home inside our soul mate, that we may see it and recognize our need to be joined together with them as ONE? What if that IS eternal life? It requires that we TRUST our partner to open our eyes in that place of meditation, living in the moment, that the reflection of ourselves we will see in them is an accurate one that will lead us on the right path. Fear of false images makes us want to choose isolation and keep our eyes closed, but LOVE takes the risk to come out of the dark and into the light.

This life and the universe are a wonderful, mysterious dance between nature and the human soul. To experience it fully, we must do it together as humanity moment by moment. We live on what we call a Planet. Likewise, our life we like to PLAN IT. But what if we were never meant to plan it? What if we were meant to just enjoy it and go with the flow? Follow your heart, enjoy each moment to the fullest and trust the one you love the most to see your true reflection in their eyes. It's possible we were created as Silver which is used to make mirrors. And the only way we can shine like GOLD is to reflect the gold inside of others, by seeing the best in them. This may solve Osho's problem of two mirrors sharing false images... Be a mirror, reflect only gold to the one you love and to others around you! Maybe we can redirect all the LIGHT back to it's original source and TIME will finally end as the false images all disappear and reality becomes more clear to everyone...
