What If There Had Been No Internet?
The Internet actually had been born out from a Catastrophic event in human history which is the world war 2 where the US government used captured German scientists for research and development in science, like for weaponry, space race, and all that until modern communication developed into what we call at first as world wide web #WWW and now the Internet to finally transition into Web 3.0 and ultimately wiring our brains with it for this future tech we are now calling the #Metaverse.
Metaverse is still in development but I will not be so surprised in the future most probably after our lifetime that people will be able to tap in the Internet with their brains and live in a character that they so choose in a make-up world with an endless settings like sports, games, lifestyles, illegal activities as well as for learning things, regular schooling, doing online jobs and things that I cannot fathom to happen in that alternate world.
"Wow!" is the only word that I can describe it and it is like back in the late 90's when the existence of camera phone was budding, no Androids yet but there was already the #Blackberry being used by businessmen/women to aid their daily tasks and now is already a thing of the past and buried in the history to technology's timeline, when "My Nokia is better than your Nokia" as there is no #Android devices yet until things went so technologically fast already that the modern communication had made our lives better.
Now it is just much cheaper to call someone face to face rather than sending the other party a text message because like here in my country you can avail of an unlimited data package if not a data package that has no expiry so rather than texting you can video call your friend or family just to make the communication much better.
Remembering when I was just trying to open my email page I am already happy to see the screen even though the page is loading so slow that it was already taking many minutes to complete. But now it is loading better plus the fact that I can stream and watch #YouTube and #Facebook (#Meta) videos without lagging.
I can see and realize now how the Internet had improved our lives particularly the #cryptocurrency users as it equates to making money about it, earning through a lot of ways from investing and holding to trading and staking, there are so many ways to earn that changed the lives of so many already including myself.
But of course like a knife that can be used to cut food so one can prepare a meal to eat, the #Internet can also be used to inflict damage, physically financially, mentally, and psychologically and would cost many aspects of damage to an individual or even a country. It is a sad fact and only mirrors what happens in the "real" world but since we have a lot of varieties of Internet users, one should just be so careful enough so you can only benefit from being online and not take some significant damage by not letting your guard down everytime you use it for your interests.
I don't have much of a clue have humanity didn't made use of this modern form of data exchange but there are many ways that we benefitted from the Internet even though it killed or suffocated some industries or forms of businesses but in the other hand had changed the lives of many for the better. So the only way that we can benefit from it is to adapt and use it for the good and not for the bad.
