''Keep Your Fork" A Dying Wish Of A Woman - A Surprising Yet Powerful Lesson To The World !
Many people have many death wishes. Some people wants to be with their loved ones while they are on their death bed, some people wants to throw a party before they go, some wants to do some philanthropy. But If I say, one woman wanted to Hold A Fork in her death bed, What would be your reaction?
I know it would be strange but it's true. And behind this weird and strange wish, there's a perfect story which can inspire a lot of people in this World and make them better. So this story goes something like this,
A woman was diagnosed with a terminal illness and given only three months to live. She asked her Priest to come to her home so that she could discuss her last wish with him. She told him which songs she wanted sung at her funeral, and what books and textures she wanted to read, and which clothes she wanted to buried in.
Then she said some strange thing which went like this, “One more thing… Actually, I want to be buried with a fork in my hand.”
The priest was surprised. But then the woman explained, “In all my years of attending church potlucks and social gatherings, I always remember that when the dishes of main course were being cleared, someone would remind to everyone, ‘Keep your fork.’
It was my favorite time of the dinner, because I always knew that something really good was coming, like full blown chocolate cake or apple sundae pie with fresh orange juice. So, I want people to see me there in that casket with a fork in my hand and wonder, ‘ What’s with the fork?’
Then, I want you to tell them, ‘ Keep your fork, because the best is yet to come.’
“The priest’s eyes got filled with tears as he said the woman final goodbye. He realized that she had a better grasp of the whole concept of heaven than he did, and knew something better was coming for her like she always imagined before the time of dinner. At the funeral, when people asked the priest why she was holding a fork, the pastor told them of the entire conversation he had with the woman before she passed on. He said he could not stop thinking about the fork, and knew they probably would not be able to stop thinking about it either.
She was right.“Keep your fork. The best is yet to come.”
So, the lesson is - Life is uncertain for sure and you never know what's gonna happen next. So, instead of worrying about the uncertain future, it's better to be ready to enjoy the certain present with a big smile on your face. Live a life like there's no tomorrow. I know it's kind of sound careless, but believe me, in the end all the hard work you ever did, you won't remember a second of it. Instead, you would remember the good times you have spent when you were young and happy.
So make your life happy, do some hard work for your goals and live like there's no tomorrow. Keep your Fork in Life.
