Sometimes, money is not enough to save lives. There comes some unfortunate times when your life is on the edge and you need blood in order to sustain it. You have all the money in the World but unfortunately the group of blood you need has been stocked out. Now, how would money save you? Money, considered the base of today's life, would be useless in those desperate times. All you need is blood and some donor who could give it to you. At that point you would understand the need of blood donation.

Donation of Wealth is great, but unfortunately it is not the greatest one. The greatest donation is the donation of Blood. There are four types of blood group exists within human species, namely A,B,O & AB. A person who's in need of blood gets the transfusion of blood according to his blood group. If he mistakenly get the transfusion of another group of blood, then his life may come in danger or he may even die. So, it is really important to remember the blood group of a person and only transfuse blood of the same group. 

There are some exceptions regarding some blood group. The O negative is considered the Universal Donor blood group, it means this blood can be transfused to any group of blood. On the other hand, the blood group AB positive is considered as Universal Receiver, that means this blood group can receive the blood of any other group. 

But it must be really important to check any infection in blood before it is ready for transfusion. Blood can't be hold forever and it does have a expiry date so all the hospitals and blood donation camps needs blood constantly. So, there's always need of blood donors. Many social and charitable trusts organize blood donation camps regularly so that they could help the person in need.

Now, comes to part where people think It can be harmful to donate their blood. For those who think like this, I assure you people -- Blood donation is completely safe. Your body wouldn't even affected by it. Neither it does create any problem in your digestion or bodily functions. All the blood you have donated will again create in your body within few days. In fact there are a variety of benefits of blood donation which I am listing below.

• Your body will get filtered out from your old blood and new blood will be created within your body which will lead to greater immunity.
• You could help someone to save his life. Saving a life is the greatest of all virtues. This virtue can't be paid back. So, you must think of it as the greatest work of your life. 
• Feeling you would get after you'll leave the donation camp would be extraordinary, Knowing that your blood is going to save someone's life gives the highest degree of self-satisfaction.

So, people I request you to donate your blood regularly or at least once in 6 months. If one life could be saved because of your blood donation, the you could proudly say that you can done some real thing in the name of humanity. On 14th June, World Blood Donation day is celebrated, so make sure you donate blood on this day and every other day you see fit.
