AGE IS BUT A NUMBER. (Featuring @bubblefantasy as Author)

Is that how most of us feel ? OR!!! ARE we sensitive about our age?
Is it our spirit that keeps us young? Or does our attitude in life determine our age?

During this week another year will be added to my life, and so I started reflecting on how I truly feel! Is it only my body that is starting to have aches and pains or is my spirit also becoming older and does it also experience physical pain?

I came to the conclusion and realisation that although my spirit has grown in wisdom, I am still the same person I have always been.

I feel young, vibrant, and full of life. I still do the stupid little things that I thought I would have outgrown by now, and still have certain hang ups, although I must say that they do not weigh me down as much as when I was younger.

I still have the same weaknesses and strengths that I had. I am less stressed out and worried about what other people might think and say about me and feel much more comfortable with who I am. But I still want to be held and told everything will be all right. And I want to love and be loved. I want to be reckoned as someone with value, input and wisdom. I want to know that I can still make a difference.

Nancy Luce a 83 year old is a wonderful example of accomplishing everything she set out to do, showing us that age is not an obstacle in life. Too view some of her accomplishments I have added links to

10 Famous Accomplishments Made Late in Life

The first time I was faced with a similar struggle was when my husband was diagnosed with 4th degree cancer on the 14 February 2009. I asked myself: “Do our spirits stay young and vibrant and live forever.”

He passed away on the 13th March 2009. About two weeks before his death I asked him to explain to me how he truly feels. He told me that his spirit felt alive, young, well and vibrant, but that every time he looks in the mirror, he gets a shock to see himself in a withered body, that is busy dying.

I know that our spirits live forever and that we will always feel young, vibrant and full of life even though our bodies might be old, sickly and withering away. I also know that we are who we believe we are and that "age is but a number".

age becomes experienced wisdom

I agree age becomes experienced wisdom and you understand life better, you are not so judgemental on yourself and others, you realise that nobody is perfect, least off all you. You are able to laugh at yourself and others, and to know that life is what you make of it, your attitude towards life determines who you are.

superb lines --
"KEEP YOUR VALUES POSITIVE
BECAUSE YOUR VALUES BECOME YOUR DESTINY"

The only thing that can ever happen in my life, is what I think my destiny is

Values do determine wants decisions in life and what one stands for.

Your values are the platform from which you function as a person in everyday life. It is called integrity. Thank you I also think they are excellent lines.

live love, play hard, pray hard and enjoy life. we only go around once. be a Blessing to others and you yourself will surely be Blessed. if it doesn't pass the WWJD test ...don't do it. i know...much easier said than done. as for aging, if i woke up and nothing hurt...i'd think i had died. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. it's not what we take out of life but rather what we put back in to it. peace out. :)

You have put it in a nutshell. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." Without the Lord we are nothing. We have no direction and purpose. He is the one that puts love, peace and acceptance in our hearts. Thank you so much.

you're welcome

Yes age does not matter, although your attitude in life does.

For my whole life, I've had the same kind of thoughts myself. Up to 58 I was very fit, cycling everywhere (even to the local shops) and almost had developed a six pack through doing high intensity exercises for short periods of time.

Recently though, my mother has developed Alzheimer's and I've been caring for her for about a year now. She broke her hip on May 9th but fortunately, she is now mobile again. I've put on weight for the first time in my life because I feel exhausted (mentally) and am finding it hard to motivate myself. I still cycle, though nowhere near as much as I would like. Before I used to cycle to my mother's house, but now she stays with me most of the time. Not sure why I'm saying this. I guess I wanted to strongly agree with what you are saying but also wanted to tell somebody that I'm struggling to get going again, for the first time in my life. I hope this doesn't sound too negative,as a response to what was a great positive post :-)

Paulpuk2000 you may allow yourself some slack. You have been through a difficult time. Allow yourself to heal, but you also need to stay positive. If you want something inspirational read Joe Vitale's "Miracle Manual". Thank you for sharing your struggles with me. There is always light at the other side of a dark tunnel.

great story believe in the future, it is all we have

I agree baracuda, in the future lies all our hopes and dreams. We must never give up dreaming and having faith. Tomorrow will always be better than today.

Great post @bubblefantasy! I recently wrote a post providing an idea on how featured posts could be improved through the introduction of a co-authoring feature. You can check it out here https://steemit.com/steemit/@nextgen622/why-steemit-needs-a-co-authoring-feature-the-solution-to-the-reputation-problem

Excellent post, I agree what you say. Steemit needs another system where your posts can go under your name so that you can build your reputation. I am truly grateful for authors like crazymumzysa and gavvet for co-authoring articles like mine. They are truly great.
