Araya is a Venezuelan city, located in most western sector of the Araya peninsula, in the northeastern of Sucre.

Araya is arid and dry, is also world famous for its salt mines and has a great tourism potential thanks to its beautiful beaches and the old Spanish Fort located on the shores of beaches.

The quickest way to get to Araya is by taking a small boat, from the city of Cumaná, which is about 70 km.
