The Infinite Potential of Being Human

Congratulations! You won the Earth genetic lottery! You could have been a bug born into a field of pesticides, or a fish born in an oil slick. But, instead, your numbers came up triple sevens and you're a human being! One with internet access, no less!

Now I know what some of you are saying: "but human beings are what's causing those problems other animals are facing!" This is true: our species has inflicted countless atrocities to ourselves and our mother Earth. But, you are not one of those people acting blindly for short-term exploitative profits. You are someone who wants to change these things and bring our world to a brighter future. Do not be ashamed of being human: embrace it and unleash the infinite potential that lies within!

At the core of our being, we are just like any other form of life on this planet; and perhaps like other life in the universe as well. We are entities that are fed information about our world, and then we feed information back out to perform actions. Trees and plants respond to light and the weather. Fish, cats, and cows all respond to stimuli. What is different about us is that we are fed a massive amount of information compared to other lifeforms, and can send out equally massive amounts of information to perform an incredible array of potential actions.

What this means: humans have the greatest potential for agency on this planet. Whatever fate may throw our way, we have the most chances to overcome it. We have the foresight to see danger coming from a mile away. We have the ability to plan and coordinate huge successions of actions to counteract such dangers. We have the greatest potential to react to the unforeseeable. We have the predictive capacity to stock and prepare for whatever curveballs life throws at us. It may not always be possible to avoid those freak accidents on the highway, but statistically, we have an insane potential to succeed as a species.

Now think of this: how long do you have left? 60 years? 40? 20? Maybe you like casinos a little too much and have put all your chips on becoming immortal sometime during your lifetime. Either way, the following question holds weight: what do you want to DO with your time? As a human being, you functionally have an unlimited potential for choosing your destiny. It takes roughly 7 years to master something, and everything we learn/attain is cumulative! Why would anyone choose to settle and be less than they could be?

This is what's really causing our societal/cultural/environmental crises: so few people are stepping up to the plate to take a chance at the big time wins that are available en masse in this day and age. Look around you. How many people are just coasting through life, content with living paycheck to paycheck because it's easy and, hey, TV's not too bad guys. That's not a life. That's barely an existence. Is a cog in a machine alive? No. Don't be part of the machine, working but never living; laboring but never on any great work. Be the mechanic making a better machine! Be the you that you were made to be. Embrace the whole human experience.

Sometimes I like to think that life, and consequently civilization, is one big puzzle. Each one of us holds a piece to complete the picture. To solve it, we need as many pairs of hands coming together to create the solutions to our problems we face as a collective. This requires people opening their eyes to alternative ways of doing things, as our current societal paradigm acts only to restrict our collective ability to do anything. With the monetary and power structure tied to the existing capitalist ideals of exploitation and personal profit, conformity to cookie-cutter standards of behavior and ways of thinking prevents truly novel forms of organization to evolve.

Evolution is the universal game. Entropy is the only true enemy we face. We need to adapt and grow our societies, our cultures, and even our monetary systems so that they nurture and support our united collective so that we as individuals can be everything we can and should be. Humanity has the potential to reshape the heavens, but only if we can overcome our fixation on archaic ways of thinking and behaving.

Fortunately, many people see this solution, that we need to evolve past our current societal structure and come together in new and exciting ways. The Earth Nation is one such organization which is helping usher in a new economic and cultural paradigm. Our unique strengths make us strong, and the Earth Nation is creating a system which rewards and empowers those who can create win-win solutions. That is what is really needed at this crucial time: new doors opening that do a better job leading us to where we all want to end up.

We stand before a tremendous event in humanity’s timeline. Never before has so much been possible, and the potential to change what currently exists grows exponentially the further forward we travel. We can say light grows a garden, so let us all shine the specific wavelength we were made to shine. Together, our colorful palette of characters can paint a beautiful picture across the cosmos and time itself.
