Very well written, and provides insight into the mysterious world of the public library. There is a big debate here in Spain over the increasing number of public libraries being closed down, all in the name of cost saving. Fortunately there is a vocal resistance.

Thank you! I'm so glad to hear that there is resistance, and although I know I am a touch bias when it comes to libraries; they really do provide an invaluable service to any community!
I would suggest exploring alternatives to government funding.
