Basic tips on proper tapping of wire to save power losses

in #life7 years ago

I want to share to all of you a very basic connection/tapping of an electric wire that you can use in your home,
This is very useful and effective.
Based on my wide experience as Senior Tech for almost a decade i already try this at home, and offer this to my friend who had a computer shop.
I want to share A short story about this;
Before my friend worriying about his electric bill, every month he pays 14,000 php.
One time when i visit his shop i see him looking on his electric bill i ask him 'why? he said ' i dont know what to do i already follow the instruction of my parent to save power energy to reduce my power consumption but nothings happen.
So i offer a simple help at him.
I said ' if you want i will fix your problem dont pay me but; after one month i will come back and see if their was an improvement on reducing your bill, any amount will be reduce will be mine?if their was nothing happen, dont pay me i wont charge you any amount. Is it ok?
He said ok lets have a deal.
His computer shop was close for at least 1 day and i start fixing his problem.

We remove his ceiling and open it to expose all pull box and all connection, i started to cut all the connection on the pull box and re-connect it again.

(Commonly we see this on our home)

Did you know that on tapping a wire you already loss an amount of power, also the current that flows on a wire was affected?
It looks like you are throwing a money in the air.
Dont act like you know how to tap or connect a wire in your home leave it to the expert some of the electrician know it.

(If you remove the insulation tape or electrical tape you will see this.)

Do you notice the tip of the standed wire was scattered or cluttered?
That is the main reason why you have Power loss.

(Proper way how to cut the tapping point of a stranded wire)
Twist the side cutter counter clockwise while gripping it to cut the excess tip of a wire.

After that it must be like this
(The tip of a stranded wire must be binded or facing each other no cluttered tip wire)

Remember that it was only depends on how you tap a connection that can cause a power losses.
When did you check and read your electric bill?
Or you only accept it and pay it with out reading the total consumption of your bill.

After 1 month i visit him again on his shop, i see him looking at me and smiliing,
I said 'so how are you?
He smile and open his wallet and he get his money, while hes counting his money he looked at me and said ' take it 7,000+ pesos and he show me his electric bill, worth only about 6,000+.
He said what did you do?

'i only fix the wrong tapping of you wire, its hard to understand if you are not technical person but the consumption of your electric bill was connected on every tapping point on your circuit.'

Just always remember remove the old tradition of the Filipino's on how they tap a wire on your home, i know some of us can relate on this sometimes we call the untrained workers to fix or to lay out a wiring inside our home, and thats the main reason why we loss power, not only power sometimes we loss our home on a single short circiut...
