This is one of the lessons that has taken me so long to learn. I never used to thank people and let them know when things matter to me. I always felt like, especially in a workplace, that I didn't need or want to be thanked for doing a job. You know why? Because I knew it wasn't what I wanted to be doing and they were thanking me for being something I hated myself for doing. Learning to be authentic and stop caring what people think of me has allowed me to start expressing sincere gratitude to others and stop being "fake nice." Thanks for sharing this.
