A Clear Perspective - (Part 1) – The Spirit

The largest divides between people and cultures are often the distinct differences in the many religious perspectives, but the unifying points are in their similarities.

A common obsession is in the absolute truths, this being the primary cause of divisions between them. This can create a mindset unwilling to take correction nor entertain any notion that their wisdom may be lacking, let alone the possibility being considered that their supposed absolutes could be lacking the facts necessary to back them.

This stubborn zealotry is most common in the Abrahamic religions. Even while despite their disagreements, the people of these religions often have much more in common than they choose to realize.

This topic we discuss between them is The Spirit (Al-Ruh), often spoken of in the Gospels (Injeel) and Tanakh (Books of the Prophets in the Old Testament). Truly a binding aspect between all peoples, especially those of similar origins.

Ezekiel 11:19 "And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh"

Clearly the God of Abraham will make of us whom he chooses to be unified in Spirit, to soften our hearts to him and each other. It is also eluded that within us would become a dwelling place for The Spirit...

Ephesians 2:22 "While you also are built by him for the dwelling of God in The Spirit."

While The Spirit is a topic mentioned also in the Quran, the interpretation of this concept between Jews - Christians - Muslims they are common today, further apart from a unified perspective with their Abrahamic brethren. With concepts such as the Trinity, the Miracle conception of Yeshua, the Spiritual indwelling of God's spiritual Son, the sacrifice and resurrection of the Messiah's body, all being concepts not far from the truth but often misinterpreted. Where knowledge is lacking between the Abrahamic interpretations, there we find their commonality in that they are all lacking the knowledge required for a full understanding of this concept, that of The Spirit.

Al-Israa 17:85 "And they ask you concerning the Ruh (the Spirit); Say: "The Ruh (the Spirit) is one of the things, the knowledge of which is only with my Lord. And of knowledge, you (mankind) have been given only a little."

This much is clear to us in all our studies and practice, though men often lack knowledge, with the God of Abraham is the fullness of all wisdom. All spiritual interpretations are lacking knowledge of The Spirit, so we must be open to change from the one God sends to correct us...
