Introduction

This isn't something I talk about very often, but I am quite interested in company cultures because I think it is a vehicle we, as humanity, can use to solve a lot of global issues whether directly or indirectly. But I'll talk about this in another post.

In this post, I want to talk about the Love Week practiced in Mindvalley, the company I work for.

1. Encourages Employees to Bond with Each Other

How many of you work in a corporate environment or in a company that's just too big to get to know everyone?

Having such a culture forces everyone to get know each other and get to bond with each other across departments. Not only will this increase the bond between employees this also encourages more inter-departmental collaboration in the future.

2. Forges Stronger Social Support

Studies show that providing social support not only boosts employee productivity, it also drives employee engagement in the company thus leading to higher profitability and less churn rate in the company.

Not to mention, there is also correlation found between Social/ Emotional Support and Life Expectancy (Source). So, not only are you making your employees happier, you make them live longer too!

3. It's just fun!

You can never go wrong with fun! Everyone is happier, the office is livelier! I'm meeting people I rarely meet because we all work on different floors. We plan random videos or write love letters to show our appreciation and love for another colleague.

Anyone reading this post that has the opportunity to organize it in your own company/workplace whether its because you're in HR, you're the BOSS, or you want to just want to do it in your own team/department, PLEASE DO SO!

I've never felt as much love from so many people at once and it really changes the mood and atmosphere in the whole office. The benefits definitely outweigh the cost. Since Mindvalley has started the Love Week experience, thousands of company worldwide has also joined the movement!
