Gratitude and happiness are inseparable. The more thankful we are, the happier we are.

Though everyone seems to think gratitude is a good thing, few of us see it as a moral imperative, and even fewer understand what a gift it is. Grateful, thankful people are more likely to receive more gifts, engender others' help when moving, and be more politely served at restaurants and stores.

Have you ever linked the choice to be thankful to the choice to be happy? How might you turn each one of those negative thought into happiness through thankfulness?

Happiness and gratitude are so linked that they are nearly the same thing. In order to be happy, we must be grateful.

1 Thessalonians 5:18
"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

Being a grateful person is a heavenly treasure, because gratitude, perhaps more than anything else, is indelibly linked to happiness. Happiness means living the good life. It is actually a life that follows Christ and is how Christ taught us to live.

Grateful people are a pleasure to be around because they bless everyone around them with an air of positivity. Their very spirit exudes blessings. They can be like a lamp lit in a dark room. They constantly lift people up by reminding them of all the blessings of life.

Thankfulness lifts the human spirit and it is a choice. God responds to the choice with affection and love. He blesses the grateful heart with the great gift of true happiness.

Hebrews 12:28
"Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.."
