My Age Gap Relationship (3) Friends
I am a much more social person than @pawsdog , even taking away the age factor and just looking simply at our personality types. I have tons of friends all over, in many places, I have no problems talking to and meeting new people, and I can make friends with just about anyone around me. @Pawsdog , my other half is a bit different. He would rather hang out at his home alone than having people over, where I LOVE to socialize.
I think in an age gap relationship such as ours, sometimes how two people from two different generations socialize can be entirely different and this can pose a problem or two.
You see, @pawsdog got his fun and his "prime time" to go out and party and stay up late and meet tons of random new people every night. I hadn't yet when I met him, I was young and had just escaped a very controlling relationship that kept me from this type of normal socializing at this age.
So when we first started dating it was very hard for me to accept that @pawsdog was "over" this stage of his life and didn't care or wish to participate.
But, because he is older and more mature than most guys my age, he accepted the fact that he got to already experience all this but at the same time did not want to hold me back from experiencing it for myself; so he was very supportive in me going out and having a good time by myself without him.
I won't lie the concept to me at first was hard to get used to as I could barely go to the grocery store alone without being questioned in my last relationship. Him allowing me to have the freedom to go out and still live my 20s to the fullest and still trusting me all the while was a beautiful gift he gave me as a partner.
