I met the Queen!
Hello all, back again with another post about the time I met a celebrity. I feel that the word, 'celebrity,' sort of undermines Her Majesty, which I don't intend to do in the slightest. When you think of celebrities, you most probably think of someone like Kim Kardashian and for Christ's sake, you can't compare the Queen to a Kardashian. According to google however, a celebrity is: a 'famous person, (especially in entertainment or sport,)' so maybe I was wrong, I guess she does fall into that category.
When I was looking for photos of the Queen to upload, I found this gem. ;)
Right, back to my story. It was actually quite a few years ago now, back when I was attending secondary school. I went to a school right in the centre of town, which was located beside a Botanical Gardens. Now if I remember correctly, The Queen was attending an opening ceremony for one of the gardens. Kindly, she'd agreed to meet some of the girls from our school and by some miracle, I was chosen.
Being the excited and eager year seven that I was, I queued up with a huge grin on my face waiting to meet the Queen. Sadly I didn't actually get to speak to her, but I got very close to her. She even shook hands with one of my friends. This particular girl vowed to never wash her hand again... I know, kinda gross. The mind of an 11 year old is a very strange one indeed.
I just realised that this story was actually shorter than I intended it to be. I don't want to drag it on just for the purpose of making this entry longer, as that would most probably bore you. Sometimes quality is better not quantity eh? You know, short and sweet. :)

Always fun to meet someone famous!! I have met several here in the states in my lifetime, but keep in mind I am 40+ years your senior, LOL. See what you have to look forward to, LOL.

Oh my goodness, let me see. Some were way before your time I am sure. Several major league baseball players. Mark Gastenau a football player. Pat Boone, Roy Clark, Christopher Reeves (superman), Barry Manilow, Robert Goulee (sp), Elvis Presley, (I was just a toddler and vaguely remember sitting on his lap) Frank Sinatra both Sr. and Jr., Lucile Ball, (I love Lucy show), the guy that played the Skipper on Gilligan's Island, can't remember his name right now, wait, Gordon Hale I think, or something like that. Steve Allen and Edie Gorme`, Buddy Hackett, Dick VanDyke. There's more but I can't think of them right now, LOL. Like I said most of these are old time celebrities that I met when I was much younger. I grew up in NY state near the Catskill Mountains which back in those days had a lot of Resorts which put on great shows with the celebrities of the day. They usually stopped in my home town for the night before going on up to the Resorts. My mom worked in the hotel so I got to meet a lot of them. The sports figures I met at games except the football player. I ran into him at an airport, literally, LOL. I was walking and looking down getting my tickets out of my bag when he suddenly stopped dead in front of me. That is one big dude!!! LOL. When I think of the others I will try to remember to write them down.
That's an amazing list! Hadn't heard of all of them, but there are some pretty big names in there!
Yeah, some of those celebs are from 40 or more years ago, LOL. Just call me granny, hahahahaaaa!!
