I Miss My Dad, I have been without my best friend almost 16 years!
This is my Dad, Carl. This is an image of him back in the early 60's in Germany.
He was in the Army. This is my favorite image of him. My Dad passed away on October 8th 2000.
He was a photographer in his younger days, a poet, artist, aspiring novelist, and all around good guy!
He served his country well and was injured in Vietnam. He got an honorable discharge in 1966.
This is my Dad as a baby!
This is my Dad and His Sister Dorothy
Another my Dad and His Sister Dorothy
My Dad and His Mother Margarot
My Dad, his twin brothers Frank And John, sister Dorothy and their dad Clare!
Thats me, ChadCrypto and my Dad! We were at Birch Bay, digging some clams.
My Dad and I, chilling!
I really miss my Dad, we had so many plans. He was only 60 years old when he passed. We were going to be a Father and Son filmmaking team. We worked on a screenplay for a movie, and we were going to shoot it indie style. I still am working on someday to complete the screenplay and finish this project. I wish he was around today to see how I have grown as a photographer and artist. I was able to complete my first magazine. Since he loved photography as well. I know he would have loved it. I dedicated it to my Dad and My Mom, who did get to see it. I hope she will see more from me in the coming years.
I sure miss you Dad, I hope somewhere, where ever, you are proud of me.
I love you!
Seemon!
Cool Pictures
Your Dad looked like a cool dude! Thanks for sharing your story with us! I salute you Mr. Carl! thanks for your service!
Thank you!
I miss my dad too. Son of the father to father of the son. I am now my only sons best mate. I never want him to be touched by grief. Your dad is now you. I wish I could be half the dad my dad was but heck. I try.
Much love to all.
thank you, I understand exactly what you mean! Love to you as well!
Wow, I am totally crying over here. What a beautiful tribute to your Dad. He looks like such a vibrant man! I especially loved the shot of you guys digging for clams. I know he is proud of you, and I just wish you could hear it from his own mouth. I'm so sorry you lost such a good friend, and father. :'(
Thank you!
Grief is a strange thing, if you tightly love someone it comes as a huge blow when they pass away. Sometimes it is easier if they had been severely restricted or in on-going pain but it still takes effort to put things into perspective and go on without them.
But over time and life these deeply burning scars heal a little; they never go away, all major life lessons alter our psyche to make our views of the world our own. But sometimes the wires get crossed as well.
Sometimes when there is extreme dislike between close relatives this hate poisons the natural healing process that grieving brings. When an estranged relatives dies the person feel relief suddenly this conflict is over, then guilt that they do not feel remorse but rather satisfaction. This means over time they often dislike themselves for not truly loving a relative the way they were expected to, this keeps the wounds from healing over properly . . .
Sorry you lost your friend !
i hear you man !! voted this at 100 percent as i touched me too as i lost my father when i was just sixteen and he was only 46, to his first and last heart attack. Still miss him and his fishing trips with just me to the country . I know he loved me as I indeed loved him. Time only heals, but the memories never, photographs are a blessing for you !! I have none of my father sadly !!
Thank you, So sorry about you not having pictures.
Thankyou, a photo is more than a memory sometimes, its confirmation that it was all real no?? enjoy and cherish yours !! ; - )!
Post was confusing the first photo ! ! !
I was unsure which was " Dad " the man in the suit or the ' bear ' ; once I read downwards I worked it out : )
Initially it was not entirely clear ;
( just kidding ) . . .
lol, I think the one in the bear costume was a woman. I recall my Dad telling me :)
Not your Mum I wonder ? ? ?
If not your mom, he seemed rather flirtatious with her . . .
: )
lol, I think that was before My Dad met my Mom, they met in 64, I think that was 63' possibly. Sadly My Mom, as I have never been out of the USA.
Actually correction, We did go to Canada. Just not long oceanic travel. :)
This was great, I know when my husbands dad passes , it is going to kill my husband , he and his dad are best friends also. Im so sorry for your loss.
