He wrote the phrase “A genius is made with one percent inspiration and ninety-nine of effort”. Thomas Alva Edison was born in Milan, Ohio, in the American Midwest, on February 11, 1847. Son of a woodworker and a teacher when he was seven years old, his family moves to Port Huron, Michigan. , in the Great Lakes region.
