Maybe this is so good news for you who like sports and diligent to drink milk. You see, drinking milk before exercise can reduce the risk of broken bones.
This conclusion is drawn from the results of a new Australian Institute of Sports (AIS) study. AIS found that foods rich in milk if taken about two hours before exercise can replace calcium loss during exercise.
Well, usually athletes like sports biking, kayaking, and swimming, will lose calcium during their sweat. This condition also weakens the bones that could affect future osteoporosis.
The explanation from the chairman of AIS Sports Nutrition Louise Burke, said that this study shows that our bodies are tired, shown with excessive sweat, and that they need calcium. Apparently, the body gets the calcium food intake if not they take (digest) from the bone.
"Therefore, the bones must regain the calcium from the bloodstream to replace the lost calcium, our bodies do that to keep blood calcium levels stable, so every time the minerals are reduced, it must get calcium from the bloodstream soon," Burke.
Exercise with low impact intensity, where the activity that burden the bone pads, causing bone mineral density decreased. For that, the AIS recommends that athletes consume three glasses of standard milk before exercise.
"Those who like cycling, for example, can think of breakfast options before cycling or when they stop at cafes while driving on weekends Consider ordering latte or hot chocolate, rather than black coffee," he wrote.
Tuh, this applies also to the runners you know! Come on milk first, bro!
