Snow To Life--Unintended Poetry "Something I Just Realized"

There is something I just realized by looking out at only the little of snow we have left. It took hours upon hours of snow to fall for any to even show up on the ground. Then hours for the snow to amount to anything but a trace. But then in only an hour or so all that snow, gone. Only traces of snow are there. It's just like life. It takes days, months, maybe even years for something to happen, for relationships or friendships to grow, for finally getting the happiness you always wanted, for having your dream job, for pretty much anything. But it only takes seconds to take that away. Things we work so hard for can be over in an instant. People that we thought would never leave, to vanish out of our lives. So cherish everything. Take pictures and save your memories. You never know when everything it took so long to build will come crashing down.

It's just like life. It takes days,
months, maybe years for something to happen,
for relationships or friendships to grow:
finally getting the happiness you always wanted;
having your dream job; pretty much anything.

It only needs seconds to take that away.
Things we work so hard for can be over in an instant.
People that we thought would never leave,
vanish out of our lives.
