The ones who make it all worth while. I had a few teachers like this, and I think the most admirable thing about them was that they were real. It wasn't the swearing or the show. It was just that you saw a glimpse of an actual person, where normally all you got was a shallow facade.

Maybe that was it, the fact that he was real. But also that college kids could connect with that part of him.
Totally, but that's just it: you can't connect with something fake. You need to see something of yourself in a person to truly connect with them, and you can't do that with people who don't show you themselves
