This is well described! There so many dilemmas that an artist faces on a daily basis. I think you have some great advice. In my experience, your #2 can also be viewed as just more procrastination (or Resistance if your are a War of Art fan). As long as you keep the busy work around the house in it's place I think #2 is brilliant for gaining more focus during studies.
