RE: A Christmas Eve Like Never Before
Don't give up!
I'd say, based on your writings, I can guess your age (but I won't)... and I'd say... give it a few more years. I find this 'middle area' that comes after the excitement of being a child and enjoying ... well, presents😉 and TRULY FEELING the spirit and meaning of the time. For whatever reason, probably propaganda, folks tend, in this 'middle area', to go FULL HUMBUG. It's intense. I see it, so I get what you're saying.
But... the good news? There IS happiness out there! And during this time we are reminded (or should be) to take a minute and be with the ones we love. And if we can't be, then do what you can for someone else.
Secret: It feels SUPER good to do things for others. And you don't even have to tell anyone else about it (Virtue signaling not required). It just FEELS GOOD. I believe that feeling is somehow intelligently designed... you know, so we'll keep doing it.
Anywho- don't give up on the good feels and love just yet. Something happens with age (good lord! I sound like I'm a hundred!), I'm not sure exactly what... maybe it's that 'wisdom' people always talk about.

Totally agree on this one. I never ever got a gift that would 100% satisfy me or make me fulfilled, but very often I had these feelings when giving. Thanks for your great comment and wish you Merry Christmas!
