C5 Blast- Fastest Kart on the Planet!

Here we will know what is quite possibly the fastest go-kart on the planet, but also the four-wheeled vehicle with better pure and hard acceleration. Its creators say that the C5 Blast is capable of being put at a speed of 60 miles per hour, from standing, in second and a half.

The secret to achieving these benefits seems clear: to combine two electric propulsion systems with a very light weight. Mainly we have a 48v / 10kW motor that sends its strength to the rear wheels and feeds on a 2.400-Wh battery.

Also it has twelve ducted fans placed on the kart, each associated with a battery 5.000mAh. Four of them are on the driver's back, which provide a 60kg push forward, while the remaining eight are pushing upwards, and according to their creators they get the kart's weight - 200kg - reduced by half.

Honestly, it's all a bit scary, I do not know how those airflows are going to set stability.

The Canadian manufacturer Daymak is in charge of making this creature, with its own technology and a very high price, $ 60,000. For that amount we could buy the smaller Tesla Model S, which does not accelerate so fast but is a car.

The C5 Blast has a more "affordable" version, if $ 10,000 seems like little money. The main difference is in the absence of fans powered by batteries, but it still has a brutal acceleration: low of four seconds in the aforementioned test (0 to 98 km / h).

The Toronto company is specializing in making light electric vehicles, such as this C5 Blast or motorcycles, in the near future we will see more products that take advantage of the technology they are developing. We will follow the steps.

The manufacture of the kart is made to order, with a lead time of between 60 and 90 days, which can be extended in case of shipments outside Canada.

Hi @carlos-cabeza, the cart surely looks fast, but I have my doubts about the fans to reduce weight. If we look at racing cars, the manufactures try to create down force to improve handling. I think fans to reduce weight will reduce traction and handling.

I think the same thing, that is why stability will surely be compromised. thanks for comment!

The Brabham BT46B Formula 1 car used the fan to create downforce, it ran the 1978 Swedish Grand prix, won and was promptly banned from racing again...
