You are 100% correct about the content quality going down lately. There has been an influx of spam and shitposts lately in my opinion and I stopped voting on a lot of people purely because of this. Also I havent been reading those people's posts because they are just milking the rewards system too.
There needs to be some higher standards on posts because it just gets ridiculous when people are earning all of these auto-votes on these two sentence posts with one or two pictures.
Yes it is sad to see creators who used ro put a lot of effort before just slacking their posts because they know they are on the big wallet's autovoting list.
In fact, that's the main reason I am going into this unfollow rampage. Also I'm not reading their posts either when they dare to make a decent one, because of the same reason you exposed.
It's a pity because they lack accountability.

You know the universe has a funny way of working things out. Eventually the shit posts will begin to smell so bad that even the auto-voters won't be able to ignore the stench!
