'Broken dream boxes' - wonderful phrase. I lived in Odessa, Ukraine for a while and there was a part of the city that looked very much like that. Same in Almaty, Kazakhstan where I lived for almost two years. I follow a couple of people on Instagram who post photos of soviet architecture and I really enjoy looking at them because it reminds me that not everywhere is here. If that makes sense.
