She Went To Sydney To Find "P. Sherman 42 Wallaby Way"
Like most people who grew up with a mild (OK, not mild) obsession with Disney, she've seen Finding Nemo more times than I care to admit.
So, naturally, when she found herself in Sydney last week, she knew she had to venture out to find P. Sherman 42 Wallaby Way.
This legendary address was pretty much the entire plot for the movie Finding Nemo, which came out in 2003.
A couple of years ago, she, like many, was filled with joy when she saw this picture circulating around the internet. COULD IT BE??? COULD IT BE REAL??
It was time to find out. She arrived in Sydney and pulled up Google Maps because how else would she find her way? she typed in the legendary address that is burned into our brain for all eternity and it came up with no results.
But, being the PROBLEM SOLVER that she is, she took out the "P. Sherman" since that's obviously the dentist's name and tried again.
Hmm, that's not the same thing at all, and also WHY ARE THESE WOLVES RETIRED?
She was feeling disappointed at only finding a retired wolves den, but decided to try her hand at Google Maps the old-fashioned way... ON HER MAC.
She found "Rock Wallaby Way" which literally isn't the same thing, and also somewhere near the Blue Mountains, which for us, non-Australians translates to really freaking far away.
She started to question everything about life, but reminded herself to "Just Keep Swimming" just like Dory would have wanted.
She decided to get a closer look at the situation by taking a ferry around the harbor.
It was BASICALLY the same thing as riding in a pelican's mouth.
It was VERY windy and also surprisingly cold so she had trouble scoping out the situation and looking for clown fish.
No one promised good selfies, only receipts in this P. Sherman address situation.
Finally, the ferry got close to the harbor, and she leaned over the edge of the boat to see if she could spot any fish, turtles, or pelicans to help her on her way.
Exiting the ferry, she was feeling defeated. Then she saw it. The "mine" bird. It was her last chance.
She quickly approached the bird, who she can only assume probably knew Nigel the pelican somehow.
She set aside her doubts from the day and pleaded for help.
But no matter what she did, no bird seemed to know where this place was.
She finally admitted defeat, and headed on her way. She really needed Dory to cheer her up at this point.
But then... the impossible happened. There she was, walking up the street from the harbor, when she saw it.
A DENTIST SIGN!!!!!!!! Sure, it isn't on Wallaby Way, or owned by someone named P. Sherman, but she can only assume she found the real dentist office.
TL;DR P. Sherman 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney, does not exist, but this address will never leave your brain anyway.
