Some people make negative predictions about the future to attract attention and create sensation. History is full of negative predictions of people who reflect their own negative emotions in society, even their kings are mistaken, they lose people to a feeling of absence, and create wars and fights.
They are attracted to fear, anxiety and great damages. They reveal the dirt in their hearts, the darkness in their souls, jealousy and bad feelings in them, they make negative predictions.

Personally, I never met anyone always being negative nor making negative predictions about the future. On the contrary.
If you read what Nostradamus said you will discover most of it became true.
Also, there is a huge difference between having a realistic view of what is going on in the world outside yours, trying to be objective instead of believing all the fake news and gossiping and negative.
It is very easy to think someone who is not positive about (his/her/others) future is negative just because they prefer to stay blind for the increasing poverty worldwide and manipulating people too lazy to work for their own future.
If it comes to hope: is there hope if society lets you down and you have more bills as income and live on the streets with your kids or when you are 90 years old and the pension you worked hard for is consumed by those who molest you?
