Depression by Freud

When I try to explain the cause of depression, I think it's one of Freud's hypotheses. According to Freud, a person who loses a loved one begins to identify himself with the deceased as a desperate attempt to bring the loss back.

As Freud always argues, the mourner takes the form of self-hatred and anger because we have negative feelings against the people we love. In addition, the mourning again feels left alone and feels guilty for the real or imaginary sins against the deceased.

The age of mourning is followed by the age of mourning, during which the mourner remembers his memories of the deceased and thus frees himself from the connections imposed by identification. These people do not lose their sense of connection with the deceased, but rather continue to punish themselves because of mistakes and inadequacies of the beloved loved one.

The whole process creates constant self-blame, humiliation and ultimately depression. According to Freud, his death is not to die for but he is depressed.
