This is a common phrase used when wishing someone a goodnight, but what does it mean?
Before we had boxsprings, mattresses were supported by ropes. To insure you had a good night's sleep, your mattress had to have a solid foundation. You achieved this by tightening the supporting ropes before you went to sleep.
Sleep Tight. Don't let the bed bugs bite.
