Nerve pain, Endep Vs pregabalin (Lyrica)

I am one of the lucky few in the world with Nerve pain thanks to my Multiple sclerosis.

This Is a rundown of my experience with both.

Endep

Side Effects include

dry mouth, altered sense of taste
nausea (feeling sick), vomiting
diarrhoea, constipation
blurred vision, difficulty in focussing
drowsiness, tiredness, headache
dizziness, lightheadedness
increased sweating
weight gain or loss
changes in sex drive.

I started at 10mg then 20mg then 150mg before bed. should be good for 24hours.

Now my experience with this medication is that it does not stop pain of any kind. I would lay in pain till I fell asleep and the side effects that I received was I would need my wife to wake me in the morning and that for me is unheard of. I also found myself light headed and not 100% with it.

pregabalin (Lyrica)

pregabalin Is the medical term, Lyrica is what the box here in Australia is called and how most Australians would call it but as it could be called many different things I will stick to pregabalin.

Side effects include

dizziness,
drowsiness,
dry mouth (xerostomia),
edema (accumulation of fluid),
blurred vision,
double vision (diplopia),
weight gain,
fatigue (tiredness),
abnormal gait (ataxia),
tremor, and
difficulty concentrating.
constipation,
increased appetite,
nausea,
flatulence,
amnesia,
disorientation,
myoclonus (sudden, involuntary jerking of a muscle or muscle groups),
heart failure,
low blood pressure,
vomiting,
reduced blood platelet counts,
increased blood creatinine kinase levels.

Now with a list like that you would think this is a recipe for disaster.

Truth be told I have had no visible signs of any side effect at all and the pain (as long as I do not push it) is almost completely gone.

So in my unskilled and patients opinion I would go Pregablin every time no question about it.

Now please remember this is how my body reacted to these medications and now how yous will so please seek medical advice and listen to your body and what it is telling you.
