Life Is About Choices

Life is the most unpredictable, it doesn't matter how well we plan our path, how hard we work towards our goals...life has a way of making you realize how small you are in this world.

How many people have been struck down in the prime of their lives? How many have changed their majors midway of their degree? Life's circumstances have a way of sneaking up and getting in the way.

Sure, some circumstances are preventable. The teen parents could have abstained, used birth control, aborted, put the new born up for adoption. But, they chose to raise their child and work instead of continuing their education.

The teens decided to joyride after the BIG game. They were so excited! They were going to the state finals. They had too many passengers in the car, not enough seat belts. A drunk driver coming from the other direction......need I say more?

There are people that work hard all their lives. Goods, services, everything that drives our economies world wide. They pay taxes, heslthcare, raise their families. Some may even attend college while they are working to better their position for their family.

We raise our children. We involve ourselves in their lives, guide them, teach them right from wrong...well, we used to. So many in our society today seem to let their children raise themselves.

Our elderly and chronically ill seem to be growing in numbers. People are living longer and advances in medical care are reasonable explanations. Testing, drugs, treatments, and care have improved over the years...or have they?

For those that don't have the income to live independently, there are options. Those options depend on their ability to work, medical conditions, age, etc. There are group homes, independent living, assisted living, nursing homes, family living, etc. Medical conditions are a major factor in the choices of living arrangements.

Personal choices are always a factor. Someone may not want a specific class of drug, another may not feel comfortable living in the in the same house with a daughter-in-law. Life is about the choices you make.
