in #life8 years ago

Dreams have been a point of discussion for as long as mankind has been able to discuss matters in my previous posts 1 2 3 I have taken a look at various types of dreams, today I would like to take a look at a type of dream that I find very fascinating it is also one that has crossed my path quite a few times throughout my life.

Recurring Dreams:

What is a recurring dream?

A recurring dream is a dream that repeats itself you might have the same dream over and over again for a number of days, months or years. You might not necessarily have these dreams every single day, they can occur sporadically with undetermined intervals of their absence.

Why would we have recurring dreams?

Repeating dreams can be a sign that we are not listening or paying attention to messages that our subconscious is trying to send to our conscious brain via a dream, thus the dream repeats itself.

Repeating dreams could also be pressing issues that remains unresolved issues that we have not yet dealt with in our waking lives that still occupy the subconscious mind, thus the subconscious creates a dream that might impact the dreamer in the most beneficial way by serving as a subconscious reminder of such issues. When we wake up from the dream it is almost like hitting the snooze button, but in actual fact these dreams will only be set to rest once the dreamer has resolved the underlying issue that caused them in the first place.

Unfortunately, both instances above has been based on mere speculation as neither of them can be scientifically proven.
