We are so excited to be back at the home front in time for this great weather we have been having!

Seemed like a great time to take the raft out for a little trip on the Harpeth River. Luckily for us the entry point we chose is just down the road from our house.

Some interesting & fun facts about the river

Pretty neat that the local river is a biodiversity hotspot! We did see some neat animals along the way. A small beaver, a crane, a doe and a baby deer, lots and lots of tiny fish.

Is this enough air? Is this to much air? The joys of filling up a raft! If we sink, we sink together so these are good things to share with your crew.

The waters were a little shallow in some spaces and that was great for getting out & exploring the river. We found some spectacular item including an old Pasbt Blue Ribbon top, crinoid fossils & some sort of petrified animal tooth.

The trees & foliage perfectly shaded the sun along the adventure and peaked in at the most beautiful times.

We were surprised to see most of the bridge so we saw lacked the urban creativity that i tend to expect from bridges. However the railroad bridges never usually let you down when it comes to the brightly colored expressions.

There was also what appeared to be an old junk yard that had been sliding down the bank when the waters were high.

It's amazing that this local little nature gem is so close & this is our first time giving it a go! Already looking forward to new discovering more great local places to explore nearby.

Stress relief while trading this crazy market ;)

We had a bunch of fun there recently. So much fun, that I just bought one of these so we can go more often. :)

Nice choice on the blow up kyak! We went to take ours out again and we popped it, so we will have our eyes peeled!

Oh no! How did it pop? I was under the impression they were quite tough.

Yes! I do this myself. Always have to go out out and like you I have quite a few exploring gems right before my nose. Then again my country is small...so more or less everything is close. Think you just motivated me into some exploring. :)

That's awesome! I hope you do venture out! It's a great reminder that there are things much bigger than us, small things that we get hung up on in life, doesn't even matter in the bigger picture.
