Today, I'm reviewing a Scottish beer called Jack Hammer from the brewery Brewdog. There are huge amounts of hops in this beer. In total, the beer contains 250 IBU (level of bitterness of beer) which is pretty extreme! It will be very bitter for sure! Brewdog usually makes great beer so my expectations are quite high! Let's see what we have here!
Brewdog was founded in 2006 by friends James Watt and Martin Dickie. From April 2007 to November 2012, the brewery was located in Fraserburgh. In the fall of 2012, they moved to a new larger brewery in Ellon. It is Scotland's largest independent brewery. In 2006 they had only 2 employees and produced 105,000 liters of beer, in 2015 they produced around 13.5 million liters of beer and had 540 employees.
Late in November 2009, Brewdog presented a new beer called Tactical Nuclear Penguin with 32% alcohol, which was then considered the strongest beer ever brewed. The high alcohol content had been reached by freezing distillation.

Appearance: clear golden color with a small white head.
Smell: grapefruit, citrus, a hint of caramel.
Mouthfeel: medium body, medium carbonation.
Taste: hop dominated taste, grapefruit, citrus, very bitter finish.
250 IBU! Yeah, you can definitely feel the bitterness! I would call myself a hop head but even for me, it's a bit too bitter. I'm quite sure that this beer is too extreme to many people.
The taste is pretty dominated by the hoppy bitterness, it's not so fruity which I prefer. Overall, I think it's an okay beer but I wouldn't buy it again. Brewdog has better beers than this one! I will give it a rating 3.25 out of 5.
